Enoch, a Quaker by birthright, was the son of Charles Cox (1762-1840)and his wife, Amy Barker (1764-1839). On 2 Dec 1819 in Randolph County, North Carolina he became the husband of Mary Cox (nee Cox; 1800-1877). Enoch and Mary Cox Cox made their home in Randolph County, NC where they remained all their lives. This union produced at least eleven precious children:

3. Silas/b. 18 Dec 1823

4. Mary A./b. 29 Oct 1825

5. Jesse/b. 15 Jan 1828
