Emigrated from Belreith bei Meiningen, Germany to Baltimore in June 1846 with two sisters, Margarethe and Anna. Wife, Louisa Behlert was on the same ship, Louisa. Served in the military as a Veteran, Private, K 5 Inf, Maryland Volunteers. Taken prisoner in Winchester, VA in 1863. Discharged from service in 1865. Died in 1866 due to pulmonary consumption.
