Mary Frances Hatch Wayman
1901 - 1966

Mary Francis [Frances] Hatch Wayman, 65, 4186 Canyon Road, Provo, died Thursday evening at the Utah Valley Hospital following a long illness.

She was born March 11, 1901, in Chesterfield, Ida., the daughter of Amos Anthony and Flora Angeline Call Hatch. She was married to Wallace R. Wayman, Dec. 22, 1920, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She received her education in the Brigham City Schools, and graduated from the Box Elder High School. She also attended the Idaho State University in Pocatello, Ida. She taught school in Raymond and Hatch, Ida.

An active member of the LDS Church, Mrs. Wayman had held responsible positions in the Primary, Sunday School, YWMIA, and the Relief Society.

She served a mission for the church in Switzerland in 1956 with her husband as they were returning from Pakistan where she had spent two years. She had traveled extensively in Europe, Asia and South America.

Mrs. Wayman was past president of the Yeshorah [Yesharah] Club, the Acacia Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and the Daughters of the [sic] Utah Pioneers. She was also active in the Girl's State organization.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and three daughters, Craig and Reid Wayman, both of Payson; Mrs. O. Louis (Lynette) Willie and Mrs. James (Mary Carol) Barnes, both of Aspen, Colo., and Mrs. Lewis (Lucy Gail) Burrham [sic], Bogata, Columbia; 18 grandchildren and one great- grandchild; four brothers and one sister, Amos Hatch, Parowan; Elder Hatch, Ogden; Parker Hatch, of Corinne, Utah; and Theron Hatch, of Lake Tahoe, Nev., Mrs. Wendell Jensen, of Hayward, Calif.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Edgemont First Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Chapel of Memories Mortuary in Provo, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward chapel Tuesday from 12:30 until time of service.
