JACKSONVILLE — Barbara Ann Thompson, age 66, of Tyler, went to be with her Lord on July 2, 2013. She was born to Nelson Lee "Pete" and Pauline Thompson on Dec. 7, 1946.

Mrs. Thompson was a Southern Baptist and retired from East Texas Medical Center as an Administrative Assistant.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia A. Simmons and husband Brian of Mt. Vernon; sister, Deborah Hahnl and husband Carl of Duncanville; grandchildren, Sean McNevin, Charlotte Jarosinski and husband Jason, all of Ft. Lewis, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Gabriel McNevin of Paris Texas, Rayna and Kaden Jarosinski, also of Ft. Lewis, Wash.; special friends, Patrick, Julie, and Tonya Bartton of Mixon; several nieces and nephews.


Barbara was born in Wilsonville Alabama in 1946. After leaving Alabama, her family lived in Tyler Texas then settled in Marshall Texas where she graduated from Marshall High School in 1965.
After graduation, she married Joe Barton for a short time.
In 1967, she married Robert McPheeters. Their daughter, Patricia, was born in 1968. They lived on Karnak Hi way in Marshall Texas until about 1980.
In 1982 she married Roger Chandler and resided in the Mt Selman/Jacksonville Texas area.
During her life Barbara worked in the administration field. She retired from East Texas Medical Center after working there for many years.
Her hobbies were dogs, gardening and collecting antiques. During her life she was an avid horsewoman and loved animals.
She was loved by many and will be missed.
