HARLAN R. JANES

ARCOLA — Harlan Ray Janes, 61, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Arcola, died at 4 a.m. Saturday in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with Rev. Robert Nolan officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery.

Mr. Janes was born near Arcola, the son of Floyd and Allie Brown Janes. He married Hazel Holterman in 1947. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Melvin of Cisco; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Cox and Mrs. Anita Gilliland, both of Arcola; two brothers, Richard, of Cathedral, Calif. and Donald of North Hollywood, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Alene Herbert, North Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Verna Israel, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Mrs. Irene Stuart and Mrs. Lillian Anderson, both of Arcola; and six grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Janes was a member of the Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge. He operated a service station in Arcola until moving to Florida 18 years ago.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
