Lillie, also know as "Cordia, "Cordelly", or "Cordelia", was the daughter of Harlin Nathaniel Doty (1828–1916) and
Sarah E Clinkenbeard (1839–1878). Lillie's mother, Sarah, died when Lillie was only 4 years old on 24 DEC 1878 • Union, Webster, Missouri. In the 1880 Federal Census, Lillie's father is a widower living in Union, Webster, Missouri with nine of his children ranging in age from 1 year old to 23 years old. According to the 1890 Veterans Schedules, he had moved to Precinct 4, Hill, Texas by 1890.
Around 1892, Lillie married James Thomas Petet (1872–1947).

Lillie passed away due to pneumonia on 30 APR 30, 1913, four days after Baby May was born on 26 APR 1913 • Webster, Missouri. Baby May then died due to pneumonia eight days after her mother on 8 MAY 1913 due to pneumonia.

On 21 Nov 1915 • Webster, Missouri, Lillie's husband James Thomas Petet married Vida Mae Rust (1893–1956).
