Mr. Elmer "Bud" Huffman, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 25, 1999, at his residence.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Hanes-Lineberry, Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

He was born Jan. 12, 1928, to Jacob and Fanny Wall Huffman.

Mr. Huffman attended Friendly Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from Odell Hardware Company of Greensboro. He was also an Army/Airforce veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ailene Bennett Lane Huffman of the home; daughters, Susan Melody Huffman, Denise H. Matthews (Phillip), Linda H. Leonard (Wayne), all of Greensboro, Pat Neighbors (Larry), Faye Black, Rachel Squires, all of Burlington; sons, Jay Huffman (Judy), Randy Huffman, both of Graham; two step-sons, George L. Lane (Sarah) of Greensboro, Feldman E. Lane (Sue) of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Edna Petty and Helen Towe, both of Whitsett; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a very special niece, Pauline Bull.
