Funeral services for Mr. W T Smith, 87, will be in the chapel of Seale Funeral Home Denham Springs, conducting the service will be Rev. Merelin McCon and Rev. Roger Dunlap. Interment will follow at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born in Philadelphia, MS on May 1, 1926 to the union of T J and O V Blalock Smith and departed from this life on Wednesday September 11, 2013 at Louisiana War Veterans Home Jackson, LA.

He was a resident of Walker, retired construction foreman; member of Judson Baptist Church; served with the United States Navy during WWII; he was an avid outdoorsman's especially with fishing and hunting; he enjoyed playing cards and gaming; his mornings with the McDonald's Coffee Crew, where he was known as Mayor of McDonalds; his passion was time spent with his family and his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children Ruby J. Wills Smith; second wife Eleanor Grace Smith; his parents; siblings Delton Smith, Willie Mae Woods, Tommie Jean Pope and Bobbie Ruth Williams.

Survivors include his daughter Sharon Boogaerts and husband David; son Ronnie Smith and wife Brenda; siblings Jeraldine Boren, Alice Kate Kopp, Betty Hart, Eddie Smith and Billy Joe Smith; grandchildren Christi, Brandon, Brian and Jenny; step grandchildren Tabitha, Dana and D. J.; also survived by 7 great grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews.

The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to his caregivers Michael, Bobby, Bruce and the staff of LA War Veterans Home for their care and service.
