Billye Jean Danley Tucker, 80, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, September 12, 2013. She was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana on October 21, 1932, the daughter of Tom and Ada Danley.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Tucker, who also died on September 12 but in 1987.


Survivors include one son, Jeff Tucker of Huttig; two daughters, Phyllis Tucker Matthews and Jennifer Tucker, both of Fayetteville; one sister, Janey Scott of Wisner, Louisiana; two brothers, Huey P. Danley and Tommy Danley, both of Oak Grove, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Jackye, Colt, Carlye, Logan and Dakota; and a devoted friend, Juanet Gaskin of Strong.


She was a teacher in Union County for 30 plus years and served as mayor of Huttig for 8 years.


A devoted Razorback fan, she moved to Fayetteville in 2000, where she had many friends in the athletic program. She will be missed by all.


Visitation for friends and family will be noon at the First Baptist Church of Huttig on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. The memorial service will follow at the church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Harper Springs Cemetery.


Memorials can be made to the Elizabeth Richardson Center for Mentally Challenged Adults in Fayetteville.


Pallbearers will be James Davis, Kevin Osgood, Tony Matthews, Mike Matthews, Colt Tucker and Dakota Tucker.
