LEONA BARTON BUCHANAN
Leona Barton Buchanan was born in town of Frankfort Feb 9, 1879. When just a young girl her parents moved to a farm near Valley City, N. D., where she grew to womanhood. On Feb. 22, 1898, she united in marriage to William F. Buchanan and spent her entire married life on the farm now owned by Archie Coburn.
To this union 2 daughters were born; Mrs. Donald (Zelda) Keys and Mrs. Galen (Wilma) Fleishauer, who with 7 grandchildren, a brother, J. A. Kegers[Rogers] of Valley City, N. D., sister-in-law, Eleanor Barton, niece Ethel Boivin are left to mourn her loss.
She was a wonderful mother, a loyal friend and will be greatly missed. She had been ill for a long time but bore her suffering with great patience. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and a church helper.
Funeral services were held at the Arkansaw Methodist church Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William A. McKee, pastor of the church in charge, assisted by Rev. Mason of Durand. Interment was in the Arkansaw cemetery.
Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Tom McCoy and Marvel of St. Paul, Mrs. A. L. Barton of St. Paul, Mr. J. A. Rogers of Valley City, N. D.; Mrs. Ethel Boivin of Harlingen, Texas and Dale Rode, Carlisle Barracks, Pa.
