John M. Bare of Winthrop was born Dec. 18, 1899 on the family farm near Walker, the son of George and Eva Robison Bare. He attended and completed his elementary education in the Walker country Schools. Then to Iowa state University at Ames for two years and graduated in 1921. He taught at Lone Tree and Spencers Grove.
John married Helen Gilchrist.
John Bare died March 8, 1982 in People's Hospital in Independence. He was 82 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of Winthrop, one daughter, Mrs. James (Ruth) Spearie of Sherrill, IA. one son, Lyle of Dunkerton, IA eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother Harold of Mesa, AZ, two sisters; Mrs. Rosalie Overholt of Media, OH and Mrs. Fannie Keith of Tuscaloos, AL.
