She married Benjamin Kennicott in 1868. The 1870 census at Ancestry shows them, along with daughter Abby, living in Waukegan, Lake County, Illinois.
Then there is this 1880 census, showing only Helen with Abby and another daughter, Anna, living with Helen's brother, John S Edgecomb and family, as well as their mother, Abby, in Connecticut. Benjamin is not with them. I don't know what happened to him.
The 1900 census shows Helen, Abby, and Anna still in Connecticut in their own household. Abby died in 1908, Anna followed in 1915, and Helen succumbed in 1928. All of them are buried at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic, New London County, Connecticut, with the Edgecomb relatives.
There is a rumor that Helen and Benjamin had another daughter named Jessie Ingersoll Kennicott who was born in 1871 in Connecticut, but I have not found such proof. I have absolutely never heard of Jessie until all of a sudden she popped up in the 1920 census as Helen's daughter. Jessie died in 1957. I find it interesting that she is NOT buried with Helen, Abby, and Anna, as well as the Edgecomb relatives, in this cemetery. Her burial is unknown. I strongly believe Jessie is NOT Helen and Benjamin's daughter.
