CIVIL WAR VETERAN DIES
Christian S. Thrasher, 87, Civil war veteran, died this morning at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Urquhart, 920 Chestnut. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Arundel Avenue Presbyterian church. Rev. C. B. Willming, pastor of the church, will conduct the services.
Christian Thrasher was born January 12, 1843 in Charleston, Ill. He came to Kansas in 1885 and settled on a farm near Winfield. Thrasher was married to Theresa Mace at Wichita in 1886. Mr. Thrasher was member of Company A, 123rd Regiment, of the Illinois Infantry and saw active service in the Civil war. He joined the Methodist church when he was a young man. He is survived by his widow; one son, R. E. Thrasher, of Agency, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. George Urquhart, of Emporia, and 13 grandchildren.

FUNERAL OF C. S. THRASHER
Funeral services for Christian S. Thrasher, Civil war veteran, who died Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Urquhart, 920 Chestnut, were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Arundel Avenue Presbyterian church. Rev. C. B. Willming, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Honorary pallbearers were J. H. Harvey, Jake Marcellus, Mr. McCullough, A. B. Bitler, George Plumb and R. B. Edwards. Active pallbearers were H. M. Stephens, C. P. Putman, William Reeble, Louis Bang, Joe Kowalski and C. Crouch. Mrs. Max Harris and Mrs. Stanley Madison sang, accompanied by Mrs. C. B. Willming. Interment was in Maplewood cemetery.
