Monte and Julee Matherly, of Wyandotte, Oklahoma were killed in an automobile accident Saturday, September 7, 2013. Monte G. Matherly, age 64, was born July 28, 1949 in Drumright, OK to Cleo and Eula "Maxine" (Fout) Matherly. Monte proudly served his country in the Marines and was a retired US Postal employee. He loved to fish and to be outdoors, but mostly he loved to spend time with his bride, his companion and his best friend, Julee B. (Clifton) Matherly, whom he married July 28, 1972 in Miami, OK. She was the daughter of Eugene and Grace (Drinkwine) Clifton and was born December 29, 1953 in Miami, OK. She was 59. Julee worked at Jack L. Smith, Attorney at Law, as a legalist. Together, Monte and Julee loved being surrounded by their children, their grandchildren and other members of their family. They unselfishly lived their lives and were a constant loving and Christian example to their children, Marty and Amie. Their time on earth was spent doing what they enjoyed most; their family, their horses, their trips to Branson and being in the company of each other. Monte and Julee loved their children and were very supportive of them in all they did. They adored their grandchildren and being able to spend time with them brought them much joy. They attended Racine Christian Church. Monte and Julee are survived by: their children, Marty Matherly and his wife, Jenny of Joplin and Amie Robinson of Claremore, OK; 5 grandchildren, Rebekah Matherly, Braxton and Braydon Moehr, Rachel Matherly and Kaden Robinson; Monte's brothers, Michael Matherly, Ronnie Miller, Erick Miller, Grant Miller and Galan Matherly; Monte's sisters, Kathy Smith, Charlotte Slemp, Frannie Farley and Gala Matherly. Monte was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Maxine Matherly, and his step-mother, Deloris Matherly. Julee was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Grace Clifton and a brother, Norman Clifton. Monte and Julee were both preceded in death by a grandson, Bryson Glen Moehr.
