McALESTER — David Evan Allford, 37, of Wetumka, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, in an auto accident near Okemah.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church in Wetumka, officiated by Pastor John Roberts. Interment will follow at the Wetumka City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.
Born June 29, 1976, in McAlester, he was the son of David R. Allford and Terra (Downer) Allford.
He grew up in McAlester and moved to Holdenville when he was in the eighth grade. In 1995, he graduated from Holdenville High School. He and Becky Shaw were married in April 1999 in Oklahoma City.
He had worked as a deputy with the Okfuskee County Sheriff's Department for the past two years and also served with the United States Army.
He enjoyed his family and his children. His hobbies were hunting and fishing, and he also enjoyed going out to eat.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Rebecca Allford, of McAlester, Harry Eugene Downer, of Germany, and Mary Hall, of Krebs.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Allford, of Wetumka; his parents, David R. and Terra Allford, of Wetumka; one son, Wyatt Evan Allford, of the home; one daughter, Shelby Leigh Allford, of the home; two brothers, Joe Allford and wife Jill, of Seminole, and Ben Allford and wife Michelle, of Holdenville; mother- and father-in-law, Jim and Wanda Shaw, of Wetumka; brother-in-law, James Shaw and wife Melissa, of Coalgate, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Active pallbearers will be members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Allford, Alex Allford, Jaxson Allford, Benson Allford, Josh Parker, Jonathon Parker and Jeff Parker.
A memorial fund has been established for the Allford family at BancFirst and at the Citizen's State Bank of Okemah.

Deputy Allford was a U.S. Army veteran and had served with the Okfuskee County Sheriff's Office for 13 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.

The OHP identified the deputy as David Allford, 37, of Wetumka.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a trooper requested assistance with a "combative subject." The sheriff's office said it was a possible DUI case and that it dispatched Allford around 4:30 p.m.
The OHP says the left front tire on Allford's 2006 Chevy Tahoe blew out as he responded, causing the Tahoe to run off the highway and hit a cable barrier, then rolling over two times.
The OHP says Allford was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
