Harley Melvin Ross, 58, died at 6:10 PM Friday, Sept. 27, 1968, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday, following ill health since February. Born near Cairo in Tippecanoe County, he was a graduate of Klondike High School. In 1934, he married Louise Lucille Synesael, at Danville, IL.

Mr. Ross had lived and farmed in the Cairo community until moving to Lafayette in 1940. He worked as a guard for National Homes for 12 years, and was a part-time driver for Yellow Cab for several years. He was a member of First Christian Church.

Surviving with his widow are two daughters, Mary May and Betsy Lee, both at home; and a sister, Mrs. Willard Gentry of Dayton.
