Victim of a racing accident at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Son of Harvey W. and Elma F. Brink.
Wilbur was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana.
The second born of six children, leaving behind older brother Charles, and four younger siblings Harvey, Betty, LaVonne and Richard.
In 1931, defending champion Billy Arnold was leading the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race when the rear axle broke causing him to lose control on lap 162.
The car rolled over the barrier and one of the wheels of the car flew high over the fence, beyond the track and directly into the path of the young Wilbur who was playing in his front yard across the street from the Speedway.
Wilbur was revived at the track field hospital only to die hours later at an Indianapolis hospital.
Billy Arnold, the driver of the race car also suffered serious injuries in the accident that took the young life of Wilbur. Wilbur was a lively eleven year old at the time of his death.
