Agnes Eve Palmer Martines died July 10, 2001 at St. Marks Hospital of respiratory distress.

She was born September 6, 1913 in Fayette, Utah to Orrin Luther William Palmer and Addie Elizabeth Robinson. Agnes married Eldon J. "Unk" Martines July 7, 1930 in Junction, Utah and they were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. He died March 20, 2000.

Agnes was an organizer for Little League Football for the State of Utah and active in the Utah Tennis Association for 40 years. She was active in many civil clubs. Agnes was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by sons, Robert Jay (Marge) Martines, Michael Palmer Martines, five grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, one sister, Ruth (Pat) Rizzuto and two brothers, Robert Palmer(Mary) and William Luther (Virginia). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and people who loved her.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband Unk, brother Mac Palmer, and sister Beulah Jorgensen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 14, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Friends at Dee Smith Tennis Center Foundation, C/O 1763 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84108 (583-9451).
