Sarah was the tenth of eleven children of William Paddock of Virginia and Sarah Jane Watts of Pennsylvania. She married William Fielding Romine August 7, 1837, in Vigo County, Indiana. Sarah bore them a son, Ebenezer Romine in 1840. She passed away while he was still a boy. Their son was lost in the battle of Nashville, Tennessee, late 1864 as a Corporal in the Union Army.
