Martha J. Pfeifer, 95, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio died July 24, 2008 at 11:10 pm at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

She was born on December 16, 1912 in Nevada, Ohio to Stephan E. and Clare (Ulrich) Golling, both of whom are deceased.

Martha was married to Clyde Steiner on November 29, 1934 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio and he passed away on November 24, 1972. She then married Lloyd Pfeifer on May 28, 1977 in Galion, Ohio and he died December 8, 1994.

Surviving is a son Jerry and his wife Mary, Steiner of Okeechobee, Florida and a daughter Joycelyn (McClain) and her husband Robert, Cancro of LaRue, Ohio. A stepson Donald and his wife Phyllis, Pfeifer of Galion, Ohio also survives.

Martha is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Scott, Wes and Neal Steiner, Shelly Sheridan, Lisa McClain and Jay McClain. 4 stepgrandchildren: Heather Alfrey, Darren Pfeifer, Dean Pfeifer and Misty Flowers. 9 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren also survive. She is also survived by a special friends Henry Kimmel and also Mason Amesquita.

Sbe was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dale and Tom Golling and a sister, Colleen Lininger and a step-son, John Pfeifer.

Martha retired from 1st. Citizens National Bank in Upper Sandusky after 20 years. Before that she worked as a a bookkeeper for Steiner Implement, in Upper Sandusky and her first job after high school was as a telephone operator in Nevada.

Martha was a member since 1935 of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky and was active in many ministries of the church such as sunday school teacher and communion preparation. She was also a member and past officer of the Women's Guild. For hobbies she enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Memorial services for Martha J. Pfeifer will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, August 6, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. The Rev. Brad McKibben will be officiating with burial following services at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitations will be on Wednesday, August 6 from 9:30am to 11:00am.
