Services for Dorothy Yancey Hall, 81, of Tyler, will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Darryle Dunks officiating.
Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hall finished her race September 9, 2013 under the care of Hospice of East Texas. She was born December 27, 1931 in Columbus, GA., to Claude H. and Mildred Livingston Yancey.
Dorothy retired from Trane and was an animal lover. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George Hall, son, Douglas Copland and grandson Jeremy Kersh.
Mrs. Hall loved animals and would feed every stray cat and dog in Smith County. She loved to dance with her husband George and was an avid game player, with bridge and 42 being her favorites. She also loved to play Rummikub with her grandchildren and was a loving caregiver to all in need.
She is survived by her loving family including her children, David Copland of Tyler, Dennis Copland and wife Kim of Garland, Donna PanKratz and husband Karl of Tyler and Debbie Kersh and husband Brad of Flint; grandchildren, David Copland, Jr. and wife Martha of Prattville, AL., Matt Copland of Dallas, Amanda Sandlin and husband Caleb of Rowlett, Bryan Copland of Allen, Danny Vaughan and wife Amy of Lindale, Brett Vaughan of Quitman, Josh Kersh of Garland and Brandon Kersh of Flint; and by great-grandchildren, Dylan and Anna Copland, Austin and Jadyn Vaughan, and Hayden and Jaxon Vaughan.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation is scheduled from 5:30 – 7:30 PM on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
