Howard Hanley Bigger was the first-born of Samuel and Cornelia Bell (Keller) Bigger. Howard was born on April 4, 1909 in Owen County Indiana. He married Mildred Anderson on July 1, 1932 in Finley, ND. He is survived by his children: Marlene (Dan) Miles, Westchester, OH; JoAnn Wichary of San Diego, CA; John (Jack) Bigger (Barbara) of Lakewood, CA; Sharon Bigger of Priest River, ID; Thomas Bigger of Ventura, CA; Jacki Bigger of Dickinson, ND; and Daryl Bigger, formerly of Selfridge, ND. Howard is survived by his brothers: Leonard Bigger, Charles Bigger, Gary Bigger; and sisters: Ruby (Gordon) Anderson, Mary Jane (James) Nestell, and Betty Bigger. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Carl, Earl, Frank, Delwone and Sam, his wife Mildred (Anderson) Bigger and his parents, Sam and Cornelia. He also had 30 nieces and nephews, 14 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Howard Bigger was born a cowboy. He loved North Dakota and North Dakota life, especially Sioux County, ND. No matter what else, or where else he tried life, he always returned to Selfridge, ND. Howard always worked in the automobile industry in one facet or another to raise his families and to sponsor his cowboy pursuits. He was a tough man surviving in a tough country and was generous to a fault with others. He had a practiced and rigorous work ethic and was considered a master in automobile bodywork, which he willingly shared with anyone wanting to learn.

Howard is not the last tough old timer to pass, but one who will be remembered. Happy trails Pop and so long!
