Norine was born July 31, 1924 in New Sweden, Texas to Swedish immigrant parents, Ernest and Hildur Carlson. She was baptized at New Sweden Lutheran Church on September 28, 1924 and confirmed at both the Evangelical Free Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas which would be the foundational principle for the rest of her life. Norine attended Manda School, Ridgetop Elementary School, Baker Junior High School, and Austin High School. She met the love of her life, Raymond Pittsford, while they were living on the same street. He charmed his future mother-in-law at the bus stop every morning on the way to work. Raymond and Norine were married on July 20, 1943 just before Raymond was deployed overseas for WWII. After his return, Donna and Danny were born. Although she held various jobs throughout her life, her most prideful job was being a stay-at-home mother and eventually a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren named her Moo Moo, and she went by that name for the rest of her life. She was competitive at games and was a decorated amateur bowler, but she always seemed to end up with the Old Maid when playing cards with the kids. She was the center of gravity for practically every family gathering for fifty years and going to Moo Moo's house was celebrated by all. And with every meal was angst over whether there would be enough gravy and there always was! She served in the Altar Guild at St. Paul as well as a St. Paul greeter where she made sure visitors and members alike were welcomed with warmth and joy. She charmed pretty much everyone she ever met with her sly sense of humor, her contagious laugh, and her genuine caring spirit. She never missed a birthday, and her family looked forward to her birthday singing every year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1994 after 50 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Darrell Carlson and a special aunt, Agnes Young. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Nell Johnson and her husband Ernest, her sister-in-law Bunny Hein, her daughter Donna Barnett and her husband James, and her son Danny Pittsford and his wife Kristel. Grandchildren, James Barnett and his wife Tanya, Joshua Barnett and his wife Cathy, Kara Cubbage and her husband Mike, Daniel Pittsford II and his wife Samantha, Jennifer Luckey-Pittsford, Sophia Pittsford and Sasha Pittsford. Great-grandchildren, Joshua Barnett Jr, Mary Barnett, Emma Barnett, Caroline Barnett, Laura Kate Barnett, Avery Cubbage, Elise Cubbage, Lily Cubbage, Kathryn Pittsford, and Carter Cubbage.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30th at 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at New Sweden Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Barnett, Josh Barnett, Joshua Barnett Jr, Caroline Barnett, Daniel Pittsford and Mike Cubbage.
