From Teastamenta Eboracensia: George Percy of the diocese of York had letters dimissory enabling him to be promoted to all degrees of religious orders on Dec. 15, 1458. He was the rector of Rothbury in Northumberland, and Caldbeck in Cumberland; and a prebendary of Beverley in North Yorkshire. His will, written on Nov. 14, 1474 and proved Dec. 9, 1474, contains the request: "Sep. infra ecclesiam collegiatam B. Johannis Beveraci, in sula boriali ejusdem, juxta tumulum dominae Elionorae Percy. Pro sepultra xl s." He described himself in the will as the uncle of the Lord Henry Percy, Earl of Northumberland, "avunculus honorabilis domini, domini Henrici Percy, comitis Northumbriae."
