Born August 16, 1921, in the Shiloh community to Joe Minnie and Ola Mae Childs Mayo, she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Betty Chancellor and husband, Van, of Katy, Texas, and Mary Holmes of Long Beach, Mississippi. Her life was blessed with four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her husband, Byron Cecil Cannon; her parents; three brothers—Vernon, Henry and Hubert Mayo; two sisters, Nora Bagwell and Myrtle Triplett; and her son-in-law, Mike Holmes.
Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
