BEAUFORT -- Retired Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sgt. Robert Seigler, 83, died Dec. 14 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Abbeville, Ga., and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and in pre-war China. He retired as a conductor from the Carolina Division of Seaboard Railroad.
He was a member of Acacia Masonic Lodge Amity Chapter OES in Savannah, the Port Royal Masonic Lodge, a 32 Degree Knight Commander Court of Honor Scottish Rite in Charleston, Knight Templar York Rite in Hampton and Omar Temple Shrine in Charleston.
He was also a member of Parris Island Rod and Gun Club, serving as president and in other offices, the Tarabera Hunting Club, VFW Post No. 8760, DAV Post No. 12 and AmVets Post No. 70. He was a member of Port Royal Baptist Church. -Excerpt from Savannah Now, Dec 1999
