Louis J. Allen Sr., 85, of Riverton, died at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Hospital.

He was born in Riverton, the son of William B. and Hattie Kitchen [sic, Kitch] Allen.

His wife, Edna G. Goldbeck Allen, preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 1971.

A resident of Riverton most of his life, he lived for 20 years in Mount Pulaski.

He was a member of Riverton United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, LaVerne Allen, of Springfield; a son, Louis J. Allen Jr., of Riverton; three granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.

Services were in Staab Funeral Home.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Struck, Springfield.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Allen. He is a member of the firm of Allen & Hughes meat market here.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Frank Wenke and has been employed at the Saner bakery,

The couple will reside in this city.
