John Gault Dies at Carlisle Early Today
John Gault, 75 years old, one of Coshocton County's most prosperous and well known farmers, died at the home southeast of West Carlisle at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning from organic heart trouble with which he had been suffering for several years, but only within the last two or three days had his condition become serious. Funeral services will be held at the home Wednesday afternoon at _ o'clock.
During the last year Mr. Gault's health had been failing but never gave cause for fear. Within the last month the disease of the heart affected him more severely but he was never confined to his bed until about three days ago when he become suddenly worse. Since that time very little hope was held out for his recovery and his death Wednesday morning came not unexpectedly.
Born about a mile north of West Carlisle Mr. Gault had spent his entire life in the West Carlisle neighborhood. He had prospered as a farmer by his straight business dealings and was one of the county's most popular farmers.
A short time ago he united with the Presbyterian Church at West Carlisle and since that time had been one of its staunchest supporters. While not a member of any church organization he clung to the rigid lines of the faith which he had learned when a boy and led a clean and useful life.
Just last June Mrs. Gault died.
Mr. Gault leaves three children, D.F. Gault, who lives on a farm near his father, T.A. Gault of the home; Miss Belle Gault at home; two brothers, William Gault of Coshocton and George Gault of near West Carlisle, and one sister, Mrs. Isabelle Steffee of near West Carlisle.
The Rev. Mr. Berger, of the West Carlisle Presbyterian Church will have charge of the funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The body will be buried in the West Carlisle Cemetery.
