Chico Record, Thursday Morning, February 22, 1917, pg 5 col 5: Mother of Twenty-One Children Passes Away. Mrs. Frances Lucretia Lettermann, mother of twenty-one children, of which number nine are living, died yesterday at her home in the Lettermann rooming house on Second street. Mrs. Lettermann's death followed a week of suffering after a sudden stroke of paralysis.

She was fifty-seven years old and was a native of Utah. She had been a resident of Chico for many years and had been manager of the Lettermann rooming house for some time.

Surviving are her husband, James Lettermann, of Sawtelle; one brother, Judge W.T. King of Carson City, and nine children – Charles Laws of Los Angeles and Harry Laws, Russell Laws, Mrs. Lily Rose, Mrs. Myrtle Rose, Mrs. Grace Lawson, Mrs. Myrtle Jones, L. Letterman, D. Letterman and O.L. Lettermann, all of Chico.

The funeral services of Mrs. Frances Lucretia Lettermann, who died Wednesday afternoon at her home on Second street, will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Presbyterian church, Dr. O.E. Hart officiating. Interment will be made in Chico cemetery. Mrs. Lettermann was the mother of eleven children, nine of whom survive her.

The funeral of Mrs. Frances Lucretia Lettermann, who died Wednesday, following a stroke of paralysis, will be held this morning at 10 o'clock, instead of this afternoon as was previously announced. The services will be held at the Presbyterian church, Dr. O.E. Hart officiating. Interment will be made in Chico cemetery.

57-year-old Frances K. Letterman was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on February 24, 1917.
