Schley O. Livermore, age 66, of 10395W Flodin Road, Manistique (Thompson), Michigan, passed away on Friday morning, August 30, 2013, his 44th Wedding Anniversary, at his home.

Schley was born November 25, 1946, in St. Ignace, Michigan, the son of Schley Oron and Edna Alice (Carey) Livermore. He was a graduate of Manistique High School.

On August 30, 1969, he married Kathy Lynn Nichols in Ithaca, Michigan.

He proudly served in the Army National Guard during the 1967 Detroit Riots and later fought the Seney Fires in 1976, with the National Guards. Schley retired from the United States Army as a Sergent in November 2006. He was also employed as an over the road truck driver, retiring in 2007.

Schley will be remembered above all else, as a Loving Dedicated Family Man, who loved horses, fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy Lynn Livermore of Thompson; daughters, Fairy Venturato of Republic, Michigan, Edna (Anthony) Loosa of New Iberia, Louisiana, and Dawn (Scott) Hall of West Memphis, Arkansas; granddaughter, Katarina Voigt; grandsons, Derrick Voigt, Christopher Loosa, Bradley Venturato, and Anthony Loosa; sisters, Betty Nora, Mary Deshazo, and Darlene Brunk; and brothers, Howard French and John Livermore.

In addition to his parents, Schley was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gary Venturato; sister, Delores French; and brothers, William and Robert French.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the Manistique Bible Church with Pastor Ted Jolls and Pastor Dave Chambers officiating. A potluck luncheon will follow.
