Anton "Tony" M. Mons, age 91, resident of Brainerd, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village. Tony was born April 23, 1915, in Brainerd to Chris and Johanna (Hjamer) Mons. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Tony was employed in maintenance for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his stepson, Gene (Irene) Tuholski, of Brainerd; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; his brothers; and a sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Kris McKusky officiating. Burial will be in St. Mathias Cemetery. Visitation will be the hour before services Monday at the church.
Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
