Company C "Gordon Rifles" of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County, 30th Virginia Infantry, Corse's Brigade, Pickett's Division, 1st Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Fredericksburg VA; a 19 year-old Clerk.
Conscripted, he reported for duty on 10/1/1863 and was attached to the Camp Lee, Richmond, Virginia, Hospital, as a nurse through 6/1864.
On 8/1864 he was assigned to Company C , 30th Virginia Infantry, and mustered in as a Private,.
He was Surrendered on 4/9/1865 at Appomattox Court House, VA.

On Friday, June 30th, of typhoid fever at the residence of his father, Roy Jones, Esq., in Richmond City, F.A. JONES, aged 21 years. The remains were brought to this place on Saturday, and interred in the Cemetery. The Fredericksburg News - July 7, 1865.

The 30th Infantry Regiment completed its organization at Fredericksburg, Virginia, in June, 1861. Men of this unit were from Fredericksburg and the counties of Spotsylvania, Caroline, Stafford, and King George.
