Harry worked with steel all his life. He worked 10 years for Horton Steel, Sarnia, Ont., 47 years for Maritime Steel and Foundry, New Glasgow. He was a member of the 752 Iron Workers Union. Harry was a devoted family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, the former Helen Marie Sweet; son, Harry Jr. (Joan), Aylesford Lake; daughters, Gloria Veino, Avonport; Sharon Chenier-Kelly, Aylesford Lake; Deborah (William) Burgan, Aylesford Lake; sister, Alice (Sal) DiStefano, Scotsdale, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Harry was predeceased by infant child, Donald Wayne Rogers; several brothers and sisters. There will be no visitation by family request.
A funeral service followed by a reception will take place 2 p.m. Monday, January 24, in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 568 Main St., Wolfville, Rev. Gail Whalen-Dunn officiating. Private family interment will be held in Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville. Family flowers only, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
