Norwich, June 7, Charles Felton Waite died very suddenly at his home on Rexford street recently when heart failure followed an acute attack of indigestion. Mr. Waite was the son of Jeremiah and Betsey Waite and was borne in Syracuse August 6, 1857. His father served in the Mexican and Civil Wars and his grandfather was a revolutionary veteran. Deceased came to Norwich in boyhood and remained a resident here for 40 years, for a large part of that period conducting a barber shop. He married Miss Mary Norman, whose home had previously been in Minnesota. Mrs. Waite died six years ago. Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Lewis, of this city. Mrs. Ira Thomas, of Medford, Mass., and Mrs. Addison E. Benidict of this city; two sons, Charles N. Wait of Battery D., One Hundred and Forty-fourth Field Artillery, Camp Kearney, Cal., and Alfred P. Waite, of this city; also a sister, Mrs. Floyd McIntyre, of Smyrna, and one brother, Alfred Hough, of Worchester, Mass. He also leaves six grandchildren. Mr. Waite was a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellow fraternal Organizations and was held in the high esteem by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from his late residence, Rev. H.R. MacMillan, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. [Utica Saturday Glob, June 15, 1918]
