Clara Burns
GARLAND - Clara May Burns, 80, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and AKA aunt 'Tally,' went home to the Lord Monday, Sept. 2, 2013. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at Lavon Drive Baptist Church, 1506 Lavon Dr., Garland, with Dr. Gary Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery, Van Alstyne.
Clara was born in Rogers to Howard and Lottie Hamilton Moss and is the last of her 10 siblings. She was a wonderful cook and had a childlike delight in gifting at birthdays, occasions and Christmas. Her love of chicken was legendary and we teased her that someday her passing could affect the stock of chicken establishments city wide. She found her spiritual home at Lavon Drive Baptist Church and spent many years reaching out to others to share in salvation. Her joy was her husband and family and serving in obedience to the Lord. Her sweet spirit and generous heart are already missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Jimmy Burns; daughter, Cathy Parolini, son Kelly Ayotte and wife Amy, son Randy Ayotte; her precious grandchildren Jason and Jeff of our too soon departed brother Michael Ayotte, Kiersten, Luke, Jake, Tyler, Brienna, great-grandchildren Jaedynn, Hanna, Miley Ann and nieces, nephews and extended family.
