Early Life: In junior high, DeLoy was in the Drum and Bugle Corps. She attended Uintah High School in Vernal, Utah, where she served as the Spanish Club president, on the newspaper and yearbook staff and in the pep club. She sang in the glee club and in a sextet; she also played the clarinet in band. DeLoy graduated in 1946.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: DeLoy met Bruce Gale in Moses Lake, Washington, they married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 5, 1946. After his death in June 1953, at the tender age of twenty-three; she cared for her four young children ages six, four and twins under a year old, with the help of her parents. On May 18, 1957, she married Gus Heaton. DeLoy and their children enjoyed traveling with Gus on his Air Force assignments to Ramstein AFB in Germany, Travis AFB in Fairfield, California, and Clark AFB in the Philippines, as well as Charleston AFB in Charleston, South Carolina. They settled in Granger, Utah and then moved to Provo. DeLoy was a hard worker and loved to serve her friends and family. She taught her family to work, to love the Lord and to take good care of their physical bodies. Her children enjoyed the wonderful meals she prepared for them. She loved her family and tried to keep in contact with them, especially on their birthdays. After Gus passed away, she sold her home and lived with her son, Randy, until May 2009, when she went to live with David and his family. DeLoy Eaton Gale Heaton passed away March 26, 2010, in the home of her son, David, in Tucson, Arizona, from complications of diabetes. DeLoy was 81 years old.
Survived By: Her seven children: Sherilyn (Darrell) Smith, Kent LaRay (Eileen Holbrook) Gale, twins, Linda (Frank) Hill and Marsha (Nelson) Williams, Randy (Lori Lott) Heaton, David (Ida Rowe) Heaton, and Jeffrey Heaton; 30 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces and nephews.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents; both of her husbands, Bruce Kent Gale and Angus Mason Heaton Jr.; two brothers, Armon and Larae Eaton; and her sister, Orva Lybbert.
