TITUSVILLE, Fla. - Lorna V. Fry, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Titusville, Fla. on May 15, 2006.
She was born in Winfield, Iowa to Chester and Lela Haight. She met her future husband, Lloyd, while attending Iowa State College.
They married in 1939 and spent 30 years living in various cities and countries as a result of Lloyd's Army career. In 1968 they retired in Columbia, S.C. Lorna moved to Florida in 2002. She was a kind, outgoing woman who enjoyed her bridge groups, Ikebana and church affiliation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lloyd V. Fry (Col. Ret. U.S. Army, VC); brother, Orlo Haight; and sister-in-law, Mary.
Lorna is also survived by daughters, Sharon Markle (Tom) of Milton, Del., Karen Craig (Steve) of Seattle, Wash., Kris Lee (Bill) of Titusville, Fla.; grandchildren, Scott Markle (Cathie) of Glendale, Calif., Kyle Dawson (Carl) of Ayden, N.C., Erik Wilson of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Amy Duchene (Nate) of Seattle, Wash.; and great-grandsons, Kendrick and Cole Dawson, and Kristian Wilson. She is also survived by brothers, Virgil Haight (Zaida) of Marshalltown, Iowa, Paul Haight (Evelyn) of Cresco, Iowa, and Keith Haight (Norma) of Winfield, Iowa; and nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held in Columbia, S.C. at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice of St. Francis, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780, or the Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, 6500 N. Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206.
