Eloise Weltner was born in Green County, Wisconsin, Sept 10, 1849 and grew to womanhood in Washington, Iowa, where she was married to David Brower on March 18, 1875. To this union six children were born, five of whom, with the aged loving husband, fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild survive. Raymond the eldest child resides at St. Joseph, MO, Ethel, the oldest daughter, died at their home near Lewis, Kansas at the age of 15 years. Mrs. E. S. McCune lives near Greensburg, Kansas. Edith Brower has always lived with her parents. Mrs. Ruby Hurt lives in Mobile, Alabama and Murray Brower near Syracuse, Kansas.

Though frail and delicate all of her life long, Mrs. Brower was always busy and accomplished what would seem stupendous amounts of work to the present day homemaker and she was truly a homemaker.

Being the oldest living of her mother's children, she took much of the care of a large family of brothers and sisters. When a young woman she taught country schools with all the grades, with an enrollment of over 60 pupils. It was during one of these terms of school that she gave her heart to Jesus and was united with Christian church then being organized near Monroe, Wisconsin. She has always lived a true Christian life and been a blessing to every community that knew her.

She died at her home in Wilcoxan, Louisiana, November 18, 1925 and was therefore at the time of her death, 76 years, 2 months, and 8 days old.

Her body was brought to Lewis, Kansas and taken to what had once been her home but is now the home of Porter Ray.

The funeral was held at the Lewis Christian Church of which she was a charter member.

The body was laid to rest in Wayne Township Cemetery beside Ethel, who was placed there more than 32 years ago.

The Brower family lived in this community in the year 1886, removed to Iowa and returned in 1892, residing here continuously until 1910.
