MR. J. KLINKER, one of our oldest pioneers died, at his home In Union township, Friday, March 2, 1888.
He moved to Mahaska county in 1843 (note: this date was hard to read), and saw many of those hardships that go to make up frontier life. He was a much respected citizen, and most universally known; a member of church for more than 60 years. He was born In 1807. His wife died three years ago, but he leaves a family of seven or eight children, who have the sympathy of the community. Thus the aged will leave us. Let us who are yet In the vigor of life fill our several places and stations so that when the harvest comes we may be garnered with those who have come rejoicing, bringing In the sheaves.
