Henry Clyde Hicks, 87, of Mount Pleasant, Texas passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Mount Pleasant. He was born February 17, 1926 in Titus County, Texas the son of Henry Clint and Josie (Shumate) Hicks.

He is of the Baptist faith and was a well known roofing contractor in the Mount Pleasant area. He is a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII.

Henry leaves his wife of 61 years, Willie Mae Hicks; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Lanny Shultice of Mount Pleasant; sons and daughters-in-law, Rockie and Dawn Simpler of Daingerfield, Texas and Scotty and Janie Simpler of Mount Pleasant, Texas; grandchildren, Tina Parr, Justin Shultice, Richard Simpler, Jimmy Simpler, Travis Simpler, Tony Simpler, Carolyn Simpler, Misti Simpler and Michael Simper; 30 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and his son, Danny Hicks.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the Farmers Academy Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:30 – 2:30 at the funeral home prior to the service.
