Daughter of the late William Henry and Pearl M. Henry Honesty. She was named after her Aunt Cora Honesty Mason and Grandmother Louisa Dixon Honesty. She received her education at the Jennie Dean Industrial School in Manassas, Virginia; Shoemaker Junior High School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
and the George Washington Carver High School in Elkton, Maryland. She worked at the Bainbridge Naval Base and Bainbridge Elementary School.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Port Deposit, Maryland where she served faithfully as an usher and on the Missionary Circle until her health began to fail.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; her husband of fifty-four years; five children; six grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; two sisters-in-law; one Godchild; two special friends; nieces; nephews; cousins; a host of other relatives and a loving church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters: Madeline Harris, Pearl Fields, Octavine Wilson and Mary Murray; three brothers: Calvin Cornelius Byrd, Sr., Edward Hicks and William Henry Honesty, IV and Godmother, Jenni Boynes who is intered at Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church, Port Deposit, Maryland 21904, Rev. John Deveaux, officiating, Rev. Steven Deveaux, Eulogist.
Professional services were entrusted to Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, Maryland.
