Mildred was born in Great Falls, on September 19, 1922, to Julius and Julia (Hamilton) Peters. She completed her first two years of high school at GFHS, then left to study music at Stephens Junior College in Missouri. She later returned to Montana and attended Montana State University. It was there she met her future husband, John Duncan.
In 1941, John joined the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and was ordered to active duty in 1942. He was part of several Asian campaigns until 1945. For several years, Millie worked for Western Airlines as a stewardess. They married in 1946 when John returned from WWII.
Her survivors include her daughter, and two sons, a granddaughter, and a cousin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Julius Jr. and Les, and her sister Betty.
