Marvin Madison Chase of Edmonds, died peacefully June 5, 2003. Born February 17, 1905, in Turney, Missouri, to James Madison Chase and Ida Potter Chase, he had lived in the Seattle area for 60 years.
He owned and operated the Chase Shoe Store in North City until his retirement in 1970's.
He married Hazel P. Hicks on November 9, 1933 in Hamilton, Montana.
While still a child he became a Christian and his life was lived as a faith journey.
He was always willing to share with others and many have been the recipients of his generosity.
Prior to World War II he worked as a rancher in Kansas, Montana and Washington. During the war he enlisted in the Marines and after leaving the military, settled in Seattle where he learned shoe specialization for orthopedic needs.
His wife, his parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include an "adopted son" George Mack, an "adopted daughter" DeLaine O'Leary-Newton, both of the Seattle area, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, great great great nieces and nephews, and loyal and caring friends.
