Carol Mae Parry, 93, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Willows Health Center in Rockford. Carol was born May 1, 1920 to James and Alfretta (Howater) Patterson in Farmington, Illinois. She married Kenneth Parry on August 21, 1942 in Farmington. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1983. Carol was also preceded by her brother, Harold, her sister, M. Elaine Griggs Youngblood , sister-in-law Mildred Patterson; brothers-in-law: John Griggs and Roy Youngblood; nephew, Joe Griggs and niece, Susan Patterson. She was especially close to her sister, Elaine, and they were not accurate narrators of their own stories.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Dee (Bob) Withrow of Rochelle, IL; 2 granddaughters: Nicole (Joe) Yaney of Barrington, IL and Stacey (Jeromy) Jacobs of Rochelle, IL; 2 great-grandchildren: Ben and Kate Yaney and several nieces and nephews including: Joan (Allen) Gingerich, John (Mary Jo) Griggs, Jim (Anne) Patterson, Keith Patterson, and Mark Patterson.
There will be a family graveside service in Farmington, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HOPE or Cool Car Night.
