White County native Gussie Marie McBride Thompson, 94 was born June 12, 1918 and died Dec. 3 in Valdosta, Ga.
A homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of William and Ethel McBride. She was married to Angus Thompson, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Warren County and had been living in Georgia the past eight years. Before that, she lived in Daytona for 27 years.
She is survived by daughters Geneva Dykes Purdon and husband Terry of Valdosta, Ga., and Juanita Clark and husband Tom of Seabring, Fla., sisters Willie Snyder and Ruby Young of Warren County, seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 27 great great grandchildren.
Burial was held Dec. 7 in Ormand Beach, Fla.
Violusia Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
