VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Ronald Jackson Collins Sr. of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on January 23, 2013 in Arlington, Va. Son of the late Robert H. and Minnie B. Collins of New Bern, North Carolina, he was a graduate of Fredrick College and Old Dominion University. Ronald was a teacher and band director in Virginia Beach, Va. for 36 years where he taught at Princess Ann High School (1965-1980) and Green Run High School (1980-2001) before retiring in 2001. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 46 years; his daughter; three sons; Ronald's sister; and nine grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests to please make donations to Saint John's Baptist Church Children's' Music Ministry Memorial Fund in memory of Ronald Jackson Collins Sr. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at St John's Baptist Church, 2300 Holland Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23453. Arrangements are by Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, Woodbridge, Va.
