Harold Don Owens, 75, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 1-3 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 3 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Black officiating. Interment will be in Beersheba Cemetery Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home Columbus, MS directing.

Mr. Owens was born May 31, 1938 to the late Jesse Rush Owens and Nannie Belle Belk Owens. He was a member of Beersheba Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Communication Workers of America, Telephone Pioneers and AFL-CID. Mr. Owens retired in 1989 from AT&T with 38 years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens is preceded in death by his brother Glen Owens and Sister Faye Jewell.

Mr. Owens is survived by his wife Polly Owens, Columbus, MS; daughters- Kay Jobe and Dona (Jimmy) Hildreth both of Columbus, MS; son- Andy (Kim) Owens, Columbus, MS; sisters- Linda Duncan, Phoenix, AZ and Brenda Alexander, Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Lauren (Kenneth) Barksdale, Wesley (Tiffaney) Hildreth, Brodi Owens, Alex Owens, and Brendan Jobe; great-grandchildren- Colton Barksdale and Emerson Barksdale.

Pallbearers will be John Crowley, Barney Conn, Kenneth Barksdale, Wesley Hildreth, Brodi Owens, and Brendan Jobe
