Cowpens, S.C. – Roy James Crowe, 60, of 227 Seminole Trail, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Spartanburg Restorative Care.

Born in Woodruff, he was the husband of Betty Lynn Bishop Crowe and son of the late Pat Patterson and Rosa Lee Hosteler Patterson.

He was a self-employed carpenter and painter, loved to fish and loved collecting model cars. Mr. Crowe was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Cowpens.

In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, John Roy Crowe and wife, Thelma, of Candler, N.C.; a daughter, Terry Lynn White and husband, Jason ,of Maggie Valley, N.C.; two brothers, Mickey Crowe of Georgia and William Patterson of Pauline; and five grandchildren, Dustin Crowe, Anthony Barnett, Brandon Barnett, Wesley Barnett and Johnathan Crowe.

Mr. Crowe was preceded in death by a step-son, Billy Ray Blanton, and four brothers.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Travis Blackwell officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
