On the night of the 18th inst., after a protracted illness of typhoid flux, Mrs. Fielding Thurmond departed this life aged about 57 years. At an early age she became a member of the Christian church and her life was truly that of "a soldier of the Cross." She was noted for her kindness and always had good and cheering words for both old and young and consequently was loved by all. She leaves a devoted husband and five children to mourn her departure. Three children had preceded her to the land beyond, who were ready to meet her at the right hand of Him who doeth all things well. The funeral services were held at the family residence Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock by Eld. Wm. Cloyd and her remains followed by a long procession of friends to their last resting place in the Danville Cemetery.
