She worked in the cafeteria at McGary School and in the bakery at Great Scot. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, George Enoch Eakins; daughters, Carolyn Sue Holland and Vickie Yvonne Eakins; great-grandsons, Kevin Nelson and Brant Jepson; five brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Nelson and husband, Elmo; son-in-law, John Holland; grandchildren, Stephen Holland, Kenneth Nelson and wife, Gale, Greg Holland and wife, Diana, Barbara Franklin and husband, Darrell, and Pam (Holland) Jepson; great-grandchildren, Stephen Nelson, Dustin Holland, Tyler Jepson, Christopher Holland, Katie Franklin, Carlie Franklin, Jack Holland and Jessie Holland; and five step-grandchildren.
Services 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Alexander East Chapel, with entombment at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
